Tell us about yourself – your profile, recap your professional life after your under-graduate education including your career progression.

Starting as an Analyst with Ernst & Young’s International Tax & Transfer Pricing team in Gurgaon, I earned accelerated promotions to become a consultant in a year and a half. From there, I went on to be selected for an international program, where I was posted as the India expert in Ernst & Young’s Netherlands office in Amsterdam for a period of six months.

After graduating from ISB in 2011, I have been working as a Senior Consultant with Cedar management consulting in Mumbai and Dubai, and have worked on a variety of strategy consulting projects including India entry strategy, business process re-engineering, valuations and acquisition strategy for multiple clients across a variety of sectors.

Describe your fondest memory at ISB.
The fondest memory for me has to be the entire process of conceptualizing, planning and organizing Solstice 2010. I had the privilege of working with the most brilliant team that pulled off an amazing event even with seemingly insurmountable roadblocks in our way. In addition, the numerous nights spent with the poker crew of the Co2011 and the early morning wind-ups of the parties at ’08 lounge, and the hour- long meeting with Mr. Rajat Gupta (ex-chairman of the Board) are indelible memories.

With the knowledge and experience gained at ISB, tell us something that you will do differently in your professional life?
Eat healthier, for sure! J
Other than that, I would’ve liked to make better use of all the phenomenal resources that ISB has to offer – probably make better use of the Learning Resource Center and the wealth of information/knowledge and peace it has to offer.

In your personal life, how have you changed post-ISB? Do you see yourself doing something differently because you went to ISB? What has left a lasting impression?
The biggest difference is in your outlook towards tasks and challenges. Even though I have always been an optimist, ISB really engrains the belief of “nothing is impossible” in you. No task/challenge/job ever seems overwhelming anymore. I see myself approaching things in a far more organized manner, and my thought process in analyzing situations being far more analytical and detailed than just being merely intuition. It is the people that you come in contact with at ISB that leave a really lasting impression on you. Almost every individual I spent time with at ISB has added something to me or taught me something. From the brilliant faculty, to the incredible classmates, from the school management to the administrative staff – everyone leaves their indelible impression on you.

How do you think ISB has contributed to your career growth?
Even though, it’s barely been a year since our graduation, I feel ISB has contributed significantly to my career and professional growth. The wide sphere of technical knowledge along with the honing of your thinking process through the case study method of learning at ISB definitely helps you differentiate yourself over other B-school graduates. The access to knowledge and an extremely active and involved alumni network always seems to give you an edge over your peers. ISB’s brand and reputation also help you get your foot through many-a-door in crunch situations.

If you have to sum up ISB in one word:
Unparalleled

What are the areas that you can contribute in to ISB?
I feel a lot of students miss out on the complete life that ISB has to offer because they get too focused on any one particular aspect. I would love to speak to new students to guide them on how to maximize their ISB experience since that is one thing I feel I did really well. I would also like to share my experience of the “Consulting Life” with students on campus and even help candidates prepare for consulting placements (I gave more than my fair share of interviewsJ). Further, I would love to be involved in the Mumbai Alumni Chapter as a representative and bring together alumni through fun interactions.

With the school just entering its second decade and opening its second campus, it’s a great time to be involved in any aspect that I can contribute to and would be more than happy to do so!
