Smita Sahay, Class of 2015

Smita Sahay is the Associate Editor of Veils, Halos & Shackles: International Poetry on the Oppression and Empowerment of Women, released in April 2016. The book was conceived in response to the vicious gang rape and murder of Jyoti Singh Pandey in Delhi on December 2012 and to the unprecedented public activism for women’s safety that followed it.

Syaahi, Class of 2015

The short film, Syaahi, directed by Varun Tandon, won a Special Jury mention at the 63rd National Film Awards held in New Delhi recently. Six of the film’s producers are ISB alumni from the Class of 2015, including Rahul Trivedi, Sirisha Mungala, Avneesh Abrol, Poorvaja Kamalapuri, Rijul Jain and Anuj Sharan. Krati Tandon (Co 2015) is the Executive Producer of the film.

Set in a quaint, hilly town, Syaahi is the coming of age story of a young boy who undergoes a transformation as a result of events, circumstances and relationships in his life. Accolades include:
Special Mention, Director Varun Tandon, 63rd National Film Awards; Official Selection, Troyes International Short Film Festival 2016;  Winner, Best Short Film, International Film Festival of Prayag 2016; and Special Jury Mention, Noida International Festival 2016.
