The 6th ISB iDiya boot camp

After 3 months of effort shortlisting the best Social Venture ideas from across the country, the 6th ISB iDiya boot camp was launched on October 20, 2014 at ISB’s Hyderabad Campus by Senior Associate Dean Prof Milind Sohoni. The chief guests for the event were Member of Parliament and former IPS officer Dr. Ajoy Kumar and Padma Shri Sanjay Dhande, who is a member of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India.

The next 5 days of the boot camp was a packed schedule with speakers of international repute who helped candidates chart their entrepreneurial journey and refine their business models.
iDiya is ISB's National Social Venture Competition that aims to stimulate, enable and develop high-impact, self-sustaining social businesses in India. iDiya was conceived in 2009 at the Indian School of Business by the Net Impact Club of ISB.

Eleven teams from different domains with exciting ideas, ranging from eco-tourism, skill development and livelihoods, health screening in schools and energy-efficient low-cost homes, pitched their plans to the Jury and impact investors.

After an intense 5 day boot camp, the winners this year were:
1st Position: Medallion Tailoring: Bridging the gap of skilled labor in tailoring, textile and apparel industry by training adults from the low income community on Tailoring skills.

2nd Position: Thalcare: Software application for comprehensive management of Thalassemia patients by hospitals

3rd Position: Sama Technologies: Technologies to translate sign language to text and speech and enable the deaf and mute to communicate seamlessly.

Joint 3rd Position: Healthera: Enabling rural women entrepreneurs to set up their own Sanitary Pad manufacturing units

People's Choice Award: Padmavathi Agro: An online marketplace for farmers to buy and sell Agriculture products.
