It amazes me how the ISB campus beautifully nurtures both the peace and the
serenity of the nature and the aggressive ambitions of young business
students aspiring to take on the world. The scenic imagery of calm lush
greens and beautiful birds is so deceiving that it can almost lead an
outsider to imagine that students inside the campus walk around in
disciple’s robes, waiting at their guru’s feet to acquire distinguished
knowledge. Only, the truth is slightly different. With 4 hours of sleep and
countless number of coffees, students juggling with case studies, classes,
assignments, club elections, business competitions and of course parties. I
have found ways of coping and sustaining with a resilience I did not know I
had.
My classes are where I have the most fun however. Every class leaves me with
a feeling of gratitude for being part of this one year journey as the
teaching from such erudite faculty gives me not only knowledge but also
inspires passion and love for the new subjects that I am meeting. My
education has also not just been academic. Every day I meet new people from
among this diverse and eclectic bunch of geniuses and every meeting, every
coffee is a chance to look into a totally new world. I realize that every
person has a wonderful story and a fresh perspective to share and ISB offers
many such opportunities to share experiences and to grow from peer
interactions.
Above all, what I value the most here is that I am getting to learn more
about myself. In fact, in the very first week of our course, we were taken
through a self-awareness program to help us learn more about ourselves and
work on becoming better leaders. The environment here fosters the growth of
critical thinking skills, leadership skills, people-skills and time
management skills. Above it teaches you how to stand strong and be resilient
no matter what.
My ISB experience, even in this short span of time, has been rich and
intense.
