Music & Radio Club

ISB has always been a hallmark of diversity with students from an assortment of backgrounds and interests. Not only are the students brilliant professionals, but also multi-faceted personalities with many talents to boast of. An event that stood testimony to this fact was ISB Unplugged, an event organized by the Music Club in the beginning of July. The event brought to the fore the immense musical talent of ISB, ranging from instruments as diverse as the violin and the tabla, and genres from qawaali to rock. There wasn’t a single performance that did not leave goosebumps amongst the audience, awed by the sheer force of the music and voices. Performances of ‘Chandelier’, ‘Iris’, ‘Chaap Tilak’, ‘Luka Chupi’, ‘Rolling in the Deep’, ‘Dil Se’ and ‘Dream On’ were just few of the many wonderful songs that reverberated through the packed Amphitheatre that night. If you didn’t know it was ISB, you would have thought yourself at a concert or performance, such was the mastery displayed! The evening concluded with the YLP admits for the coming year performing as well. ISB waits with bated breath for the Music Club’s next extravaganza!

Another club that captured the heart of the ISB community recently was the Radio Club. Yes, we do have professional RJs at ISB! The Radio Club organized Cross Campus Dedications (one radio, two campuses!), and was flooded with requests from the students. If there was anything left to complete the feeling of a community that ISB brings, it was accomplished by having our very own radio. The messages conveyed love, fun, and a mutual fear of DMOP! The witticisms of the RJs and the relatability of the songs and messages brought together the campuses over radio. Recently, the Radio Club held a classic rock night, proving that it is indeed just the beginning of many events to come.
