Dear Alums

February brings memories of placements and those hectic, nerve wracking days on campus. I am happy to report that things have been going well for the Class of 2011 and placement season will soon be over. Many alums have been involved as liaisons on behalf of their companies, and a common opinion being voiced is that they are very impressed with this class.

This month also saw various impactful workshops and conclaves on campus. The workshop on UID and business opportunities saw many students and experts working together on ideas and fleshing them out. This workshop will be repeated again and will be open to alumni as well. Do stay tuned.

The Women in Business club organized their flagship conclave “Breaking the Mould” last weekend. Women business leaders such as Priya Paul of The Park Hotels, Meera Sanyal of RBS, Irena Vittal of Mckinsey and Co., Rohini Nilekani of Arghyam and Rajshree Pathy of Rajshree Group spoke about leadership and their experiences. More than 200 delegates from over 10 countries attended the Family Business conference held earlier in the month, which also featured stellar speakers such as Aditya Burman of Dabur, Puneet Dalmia of Dalmia Group and Sajen Aswani of Tolaram Group among others.

We rolled out elections for all chapters this month, and while we didn’t need formal elections because we got the approximate number of nominations that were required for all chapters, it was great to see such wide spread participation from all classes. Alumni, right from the founding class to the class of 2010, have all volunteered to put in their time and effort to strengthen our network. You can see the list of alums in “Alumni Association” section in this newsletter. These people will come up with an action plan for the next year, which will be shared with you during the 3rd week of March. I urge you all to take an active part in all the initiatives that will be championed by all the chapters. It’s only your participation that gives Chapter Representatives the impetus to do more and to do better.
