Industrial Research and Development These research projects aim to integrate the learnings from the AMPBA program to solve real-world business problems. The centre publishes about 50 Capstone Reports every year. Abstracts of award-winning Capstone Projects from Batch 17 & 18 Creating a Personalised Recommendation Engine for Managing Burnout in Employees By leveraging the power of data analysis and intervention mapping, the team developed a personalised recommendation engine for organisations that can significantly address employee burnout and promote well-being. Conversational Solutions for the Sales Team by leveraging GenAI Techniques This project helped develop an advanced conversational solution using cutting-edge Generative AI techniques to enhance the organisation’s Sales Team's ability to interpret intricate sales data. Applied Generative AI on Medical Text Data for Structured Entity Classification Based on Standard Medical Ontologies Using diverse technology stack, an application was developed to enhance clinical decision-making, and managing patient records with increased efficiency and accuracy for hospitals. Demand Forecasting and Fast Mover Prediction This report explores a leading fashion retailer's data-driven approach to enhance feature extraction from product photos, improve unit sales forecasting, and accurately identify fast-moving products to maximize sales and prevent stockouts.

Understanding the Canvas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Healthcare in India The report provides thought-provoking insights into concepts of AI in healthcare, exploring implications and highlighting multifaceted challenges associated with adopting technology across layers in healthcare sector. Ecomm Report: Unveiling Data-driven shopping patterns from Logistics Lens Though, metropolitan residents shop the most online, interestingly, the Tier II cities - bring in the largest volume of online orders. This report suggests Internet penetration, urbanisation and the limited variety of products available at local stores are the primary reasons for the expected growth in smaller cities. Marketing Mix Model: Influence of Marketing Expenditure on KPIs This study aims to develop a robust model for a leading eyewear retailer in India to assess the impact of advertising spending across different channels on footfall and revenue by leveraging historical advertising data. The analysis seeks to provide a deeper understanding of how marketing expenditure influences key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue and footfall.

Conference Paper Presentation Radhalakshmi K N, Analyst with IIDS, presented a paper titled “An analysis of abnormal shifts in NIFTY 50 index using a non-mesokurtic distribution.” Her contribution was part of the International Conference on 'Statistical Methods in Finance' (StatFin 2023), held at Chennai Mathematical Institute from December 21 to 23, 2023. This event was a collaborative effort between the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) and the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI).

Alumni Mentorship Sessions Aalaya Seshadri, Gaurav Budhiraja and Vinay Goyal interacted with AMPBA students on Nov 14, 2023, to explore how the programme helped them achieve career growth in Analytics and Data Science. AMPBA alums - Praneeth Kumar Muthyala, Ravi Kishore Moritala, Shradha Thirunagari, and Venkat Nimmala, interacted with students of AMPBA to share their views on the required niche skills for a Data Scientist, criticality of domain knowledge, future trends in data science and career paths in the field.

Alumni Recognition AMPBA alumnus Bharani Kumar participated in the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Tamil Nadu MedClave, Third Edition 2023, where he explored the transformative potential of AI and Generative AI in healthcare. He discussed diverse perspectives on how cutting-edge technologies revolutionize patient care, diagnostics, and medical research. In his talk, he also highlighted the advancements in AI and GenAI that are making significant strides in healthcare today, demonstrating their real-world impact.

Workshops & Roundtables Manish Gangwar, Associate Professor, Marketing, ISB and Executive Director, IIDS, and Dr Manish Gupta conducted a 3-day workshop on machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for students of the University and Petroleum Studies (UPES). Madhu Viswanathan, Associate Professor, Marketing, ISB and Research Director, IIDS, shared his thoughts on Retail and E-Commerce Innovations in India at The Economic Times Retail and E-Commerce Innovation Summit 2023. Avik Sarkar, Ph.D., Senior Research Consultant at IIDS, took part in a roundtable on regulatory sandboxes for Responsible AI. The event was organised by Chase India and the Indian School of Public Policy (ISPP). The discussions aimed to develop recommendations for a legal and regulatory framework for AI in India, to be proposed to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) as part of the Digital India Programme. IIDS collaborated as a knowledge partner at The 3rd International Conference on AI-ML Systems 2023, where Madhu Viswanathan, Associate professor, Marketing, and Research Director at IIDS moderated a panel discussion on 'Responsible Thinking for Generative AI.' Madhu Viswanathan, Associate Professor of Marketing at ISB and Research Director at IIDS, and AMPBA alumni Jatinder Kautish and Vaibhav Fadnavis, participated in a workshop organised by the Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM). The purpose of the workshop was to develop a comprehensive strategy on Generative AI for the State Government of Telangana. An informative session on Resume Building was conducted by Ankit Agarwal, Senior Associate Director, Careers Advancement Services Indian School of Business, for the AMPBA students of Batch-18 & Batch-19. He emphasized the importance of identifying one's strengths & skills and presenting them in the best possible manner to be critical to building a robust resume that can, in turn, catapult one's career trajectory.

Events Inauguration of Batch-20 The inauguration of the 20th batch of the Advanced Management Program in Business Analytics (AMPBA) took place on June 23, 2023. Prof. Manish Gangwar, Executive Director of IIDS, and Prof. Saumya Sindhwani, Associate Dean of Advanced Management Programmes, congratulated and welcomed the incoming students. Ganapathy V, Vice President and Head of the Global Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence at Holcim, and an AMPBA alumnus, addressed the class, sharing his experiences and insights from the program. Networking Dinner IIDS welcomed Co 2024 (Summer) Batch-20 with a networking dinner. The new incumbents got an opportunity to interact with each other, industry experts and faculty. Outreach Activities Insights Masters ISB Institute of Data Science (IIDS) and INNODATATICS co-sponsored Insights Masters, a Business Analytics Case Competition, held at Advaita ISB's premiere management festival. The event that was well attended by over 1500 participants. Women in Data Science (WiDS) 2023 Women in Data Science (WiDS) is a worldwide community, incubated at Stanford University. Every year WiDS organizes its annual conference to give a woman a platform to share insights, gain knowledge, and network. The 4th edition of annual WiDS Hyderabad conference was organised in collaboration with IIDS and was hosted by ISB at its Hyderabad campus.

Data Science Summit 2023 IIDS hosted its highly anticipated ISB's Data Science Summit on December 8th, 2023. The focus was on scaling generative AI projects and products, with a special emphasis on the retail industry and the associated security and privacy challenges. The summit brought together industry experts in Generative AI, Retail, and Cyber Security, high-level enterprise technologists, application developers, and academics.
