Student Entrepreneurs at ISB



Among the current PGP students at ISB are some intrepid entrepreneurs who continue to run their ventures while also pursuing their coursework. We will highlight three such student-entrepreneurs in this section, beginning with Rishabh Sinha, whose venture “Mitr” is a hybrid system of transportation based on electric + solar technology called “Mitra – Personal Mover.” Presenting Sinha’s thoughts on entrepreneurship and related topics:
 
On multitasking: managing the coursework and the business:
I have been engaged in the business along with my brother, who has been taking the business to new milestones. Currently, I am trying to leverage whatever opportunity I can get through the ISB network. We often interact through email and phone calls to keep each other abreast of the latest happenings. Recently, we offered a consultancy project to ISB students, who will help us in identifying the market strategy for our product. We hope to get novel ideas and suggestions from them. Though time is one of the most constrained resources, especially at ISB, we need to prioritise our work and align it with our goals.

On the importance of an MBA degree to entrepreneurship:   
A degree in management is really important – on one hand, I have learned various aspects of running a business such as generating funds and coming up with a competitive strategy, and other hand, the ISB brand has helped me earn more credibility in the market.

On the one thing every entrepreneur needs to know to succeed:
Stay committed and persist with the idea despite failures and find innovative ways to fight against all odds.

On success and failure:
Success and failures are cyclical. There are more failures than successes in start-ups or early stage of any product/business development. The only way to cope is to persist until luck favours you.

On the learning from ISB that will help benefit the start-up:
In the last four months, I have learned to differentiate the product and market it through different channels. I have also realised the importance of teamwork. I would like to expand the team and delegate work. I also have learned the art to evaluate sunk cost fallacy.
