Tell us about yourself – your profile, recap your professional life after ISB including your career progression
I am Kalyani Kesana, an Alumnus from the Class of 2005. Post ISB, I joined Business Consulting Practice, Tata Consultancy Services, a consulting unit within TCS that focuses on manufacturing vertical. After a stint of 4 years on multiple roles and locations I relocated to Harlow, UK to join my husband. During that one year of stay I worked for Pearson Education as an ecommerce Process specialist in its Marketing division. We moved back to India in 2008 after which I joined IBM India Pvt Ltd as a Senior Advisory Consultant in its Strategy and Transformation team. Most of my engagements focus on process and operations improvement and have direct impact on an organization’s bottom line.

That one year at ISB has been the stepping stone for all the rigor and thoroughness in my work from the point of deep diving or taking a 30,000 feet approach.

Describe your fondest memory at ISB
When Section D won the womens’ football match because of my Penalty shot.

With the knowledge and experience gained at ISB, when looking back, tell us something that you would have done differently while you were a student here?
One thing that I would have done differently would have been spending more time on networking. As I progressed through different roles and organizations what has worked for me is my network; so probably I could have made this a bit stronger if I had that inclination and perseverance during my year at ISB.

In your personal life, how have you changed post-ISB? Do you see yourself doing something differently because you went to ISB? What has left a lasting impression?
ISB has given me tremendous confidence to handle situations and move forward. I have been an optimist but ISB made me realize that and use it towards radiating it in every facet of life.

How do you think ISB has contributed to your career growth?
Without doubt ISB has been the reckoning force behind my career growth. It gave me a platform to stand on and deliver which over a period of time became so strong that I now choose my assignments with confidence. I am sure it would be the same in the future.

If you have to sum up ISB in one word: Turning Point.

What are the areas that you can contribute in to ISB?
Personal : Mentoring , Student fitness.
Professional : Resume writing and Admissions.
