B-schooled Episode # 6

The One with the Interviews

They say that hard work does pay off. They say that your efforts do see the light of day. I could keep throwing these cliches at you; but I am pretty sure that you get the point.
Joey's tenure at the Bschool was at a point where his efforts were at the verge of fruition. And by fruition I mean getting a job with a big fat paycheck of course.

The epilogue of lies, aka the resume, was ready. The rehearsals and the dress rehearsal for the actual show had been completed (Joey attended mock interviews clad in a suit, tie, bow tie, cufflinks and every other trinket that went with it).
The heroes of yesteryear, aka the alums, were consulted (as opposed to 'talked to', that a non-mba would do) and no stone was left un-turned. In fact the student housing folklore had it that one could hear voices that went like "Who's the man?? I am.... I AMMM" from the confines of Joey's room.
If the rumor mills were to be believed, then Joey had categorically lost it. However Joey was never more focused, or at least he seemed focused (Picture 'Eye of the tiger' playing in the background).

The D day arrives
After weeks of anticipation the day was finally upon Joey. This was the day in which he would have his first set of interviews. 'Eye of theTtiger' gave way to 'You are Beautiful' and then to 'It's my life', however even with the ever changing background score Joey's confidence persisted. With his confident suave verve Joey entered his first Bschool Job interview. The interview went like a dream, at least that is what Joey thought. The other interviews (for other firms) that Joey had on the day weren't too bad either. However, to Joey's dismay, he didn't land even one of those jobs.

The Gift/Curse of Retrospection
With his friends off celebrating their new found success, Joey had the luxury of time. And he used this time to do a post mortem analysis of his now deceased quests for a job.

Would Joey like the results this study brought to the forefront?
Would the past be worth excavating?
