Tell us about yourself - your profile, recap your professional life after ISB including your career progression.
Since ISB, I have been with A.T. Kearney in New Delhi as a Management Consultant working in sectors such as telecom, oil and gas, and logistics/infrastructure. Prior to ISB, I worked for Goldman Sachs in New York in their Private Wealth Management Division. I have an M.S. in Computer Science from Rutgers University, U.S., and B.Tech. from IIT Roorkee. We have quite a large group of ISB Alumni at ATK, so it is always great to catch up and exchange war stories from ISB. The interesting thing about these conversations is that the stories sound so similar in nature whether it is academics, batch parties, dunkings, etc., which gives an indication as to the strong foundations of the school and its Alumni.

What was your key take-away from the ISB?
After studying and working in the U.S for around five years I wanted to return to India. I had friends who had gone to the ISB and had great things to say about the school and .I had also visited the campus a couple of years ago and was blown away by the infrastructure. For me, the choice was a no-brainer as I was looking for a career transition and also wanted to develop a strong network of friends and mentors. ISB proved the right choice in both aspects – it was outstanding academically and the sheer quality of my peers and alumni was amazing.

How do you think the ISB has contributed to your career growth?
In the short-term, ISB allowed me to get into an industry that gives me a bird’s eye view of the Indian growth story. Then in terms of the network and brand visibility within the country, ISB has opened doors for me. The constant endeavors of the Alumni Association to form the alumni base into a cohesive entity as well as initiatives such as the Life-long learning program bodes well for the future.

What is your vision for the School?
I see ISB as providing leaders to the country in business, society and polity. I have met many folks from ISB who are smart, driven, and entrepreneurial. At the same time, it is also incumbent upon the School to provide an environment for their transformation from good to great during their school year and beyond. Once it’s people do well, the institution’s prestige rises with them.

What are the strengths that the School can leverage upon and areas it can improve?
Make stronger use of its international partnerships and move beyond academics. It can facilitate more exposure to students, and even alumni, to other institutions of learning and develop a stronger international network. The School also needs to develop and market its brand internationally.

What is the area you can contribute in?
I can help the alumni in promoting the school in the business world and also in mentoring current students.
