As part of its continuing efforts to tap into the large pool of highly successful alumni, the Consulting Club, Class of 2009 at the Indian School of Business (ISB) organised its first chapter of the alumni series, aptly titled ‘Horizons’. The event was made special by the presence of distinguished alumni, all representing ace consulting firms, who had come together on the dais to address some of the pressing queries that the present batch had on Consulting, as a career. |
Actis Heads Deliver Real Estate Insight
at the ISB
The Real Estate Club at the Indian School of Business (ISB), in association with Actis, a leading private equity investor in emerging markets, organised a special address by Robert John, Advisor, Actis, who spoke on ‘Canary Wharf Development, London.’ This was followed by another insightful talk by David Morley, Partner, Actis, on ‘Real Estate Investments in Africa.’ The event, held at the ISB, was targeted at select Real Estate industry professionals, ISB alumni in the RE industry, students from the Class of 2009 who are interested in Real Estate as a career option, and the community of developers from Hyderabad.

UK-India Education and Research Initiative Fund

The UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) facilitates academic and research partnerships between
institutions in UK and India. The initiative, through rigorous evaluation, will be supporting research and collaboration proposals that can demonstrate excellence. Project proposals will be evaluated according to research merit, potential for innovation and overall benefit, with subject areas drawn from science and technology, the social sciences and other areas of economic importance in the India-UK relationship.

Student Competitions - 20th AIMS Annual Convention 2008
Welingkar and AIMS welcome the ISB
and invite the team of faculty members/students
to participate in the 20th AIMS Annual Convention at Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai, on August 27, 28 & 29 2008. This year the theme of the convention is “Nurturing Thought Leadership through Management Education”. The Convention will also focus on the sub themes like “India - The Knowledge Capital, Leadership Development at the grass root level, Innovation Imperative –Expectations from B–Schools, Business Labs - Incubating the Enterprise of the Future, Responsible Leadership – Environment Concerns, Voice of the Customer, New tools in Management etc”.

joined as a Visiting Scholar at the ISB. Professor Seshadri is visiting the ISB till July 15, 2008. |

Professor Kannan Srikanth |
Professor Kannan Srikanth has joined the ISB as an Assistant Professor in the Strategy area.
Professor Srikanth holds a PhD in Strategic and International Management from London Business School. He obtained his MS in Management Science from the Stanford University. Prior to this he completed his BTech from IIT, Chennai. His research interests lie in Organization design of coordination and incentive mechanisms, Outsourcing and Offshoring, Distributed work and Joint search and joint learning.

Professor Deepa Mani

Professor Deepa Mani has joined the ISB as an Assistant Professor in the Information Systems area. Professor Deepa holds a PhD in Information Systems from University of Texas at Austin. She obtained her MS degree from the Information Systems Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to this she completed her PGDMA from University
of Mumbai and BA (Honors) in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Her research interests lie in organization and value of outsourcing relationships, impact of IT on firm value and productivity and impact of IT on society.
