Renowned social activist, and winner of the Right Livelihood Award,
Swami Agnivesh, recently addressed future business
leaders and opinion makers at the Indian School of Business (ISB)
on the theme ‘Business, Politics and Social Action’.
The Indian School of Business (ISB)
recently hosted acclaimed
cartoonist and voice of the common man in India for
the last 50 years - artist R K Laxman. The entire ISB
community gathered to hear the famous quips of the very person, on
whose ‘You Said It’ strip most of them have woken up to, every
morning.
Dean Bill Glick of Jesse H Jones Graduate School of Management, Rice
University, Houston, Texas, recently
visited the Indian School of Business (ISB). During his visit, Dean
Glick interacted with the ISB management and faculty.
Adding to the list of distinguished visitors to the Indian School of
Business (ISB), this month Shri Tarun Gogoi,
Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, visited the campus. Shri Gogoi
interacted with Dean M Rammohan Rao and a few
senior management members at the ISB. He was accompanied by senior
officials from the Assam government. He toured
all the campus facilities and held a brief discussion with the Dean on
areas of possible association with an institute like the
ISB.
There is a huge demand for critical thinking in higher education,
and not just training,” said Professor Paul Webley,
renowned economic physiologist, and Director and Principal of
School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)
at the University of London. Professor Webley was on a visit to
the Indian School of Business (ISB), where he delivered
a talk about the challenges of a specialist school like SOAS, in a
world plagued by a utilitarian approach to higher education.
Professor Jonathan Morduch, Professor of Public Policy and Economics
at New York University, was invited to take part in
the Distinguished Lecture Series
