Metamorphosis
December 17, 2007
From AltaVista to Google, from Napster to iTunes, from Word Perfect
to Word, the list goes on for market innovators who helped discover
an innovation’s true potential. History has shown that developing
cutting edge innovations is one thing and unraveling the potential
of the innovation and bringing them to market successfully is
another. Metamorphosis 2007 – an application discovery and business
model contest - aims at establishing this marriage between
innovative excellence and sheer business acumen making complimentary
thinking a reality. Metamorphosis – a word that means transformation
– is a transformation from the mind of an inventor to the mind of
the market discoverer.
The event is being organized by the Entrepreneurship and Venture
Capital Club (EVC) and the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship
Development (WCED) at the Indian School of Business (ISB),
Hyderabad. The contest is funded and co-partnered with the
Government of India – Ministry of Science and Technology and
supported under its Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP). This
event brings the business school student in touch with selected
innovators whose inventions (some patented) are already at advanced
product development stages. The contest asks the student team to
come out with innovative concepts that is best able to ‘discover the
application’, ‘unravel the market’, ‘define the customer’, think
‘out of the box’ so as to truly bring this innovation to successful
commercial exploitation.
In addition to eminent speakers and judges who will be on campus on
December, we also have the inventors coming to campus on whose plans
the student teams prepared ‘go to market’ strategies.
Agenda:
• 1100 – 1900 hrs: 15 shortlisted teams from business schools
present their plans to two judging panels.
• 1900 – 2100 hrs: Address by judges and announcement of winning
team to student body.
• 2100 hrs onwards: Dinner.
The entire Metamorphosis team eagerly looks forward to meeting you.
Request you to drop in a line of confirmation to Ankur_agarwal@pgp2008.isb.edu
so as to plan for logistics.
