Research and Innovation

Segmentation using Audience Tribes: Methodology and Use Case

In this study, Prof. Madhu Viswanathan and Prof. Sumeet Kumar created a segmentation and targeting strategy based on data and connections of the audience tribes on Social Media platforms using Machine Learning to identify consumer segments for products with passionate followers.

Leveraging Deep Learning models:
To identify healthcare facilities and predict the location of new healthcare infrastructure from satellite imagery

Prof. Manish Gangwar, Prof. Madhu Viswanathan, Dr. Shruti Mantri, and Gokul Kumar used Geospatial and Remote Sensing technologies to recommend appropriate hospital site selection to the Maharashtra government to optimise the allocation of medical resources during the Pandemic.

Industrial Research and Development

Applied ML and Deep Learning on Pulse Plethysmography data to reduce Sepsis-related Mortality

Sepsis is a leading cause of death worldwide. In this study, researchers developed a Machine Learning model that could facilitate the early detection of Sepsis using non-invasive methods.

AI-based Failure Prediction of Industrial Electrical Systems using Thermal Imaging

Researchers in this study applied thermal image analysis with the help of Computer Vision and Deep Learning Methods on electrical equipment to predict failure rates and recommend preventive maintenance.

Predicting Agricultural Prices in Real-Time

The researchers used high-resolution satellite imagery to monitor the stage of paddy yield and designed & developed a Deep Learning Model to predict the real-time prices of the crop in the Sangrur district.

Social Listening in Real Estate

In this study, researchers leveraged GPL data from social media platforms to recommend a framework to analyse insights into Homeowners' preferences and incorporate them into product design.

Data-based decision-making in Real Estate

Researchers created a robust data collection process, helped understand the data, and built an automated analysis method for Real Estate.

Anomaly Detection using AI and Network Graph Models

In this project, researchers designed & developed Machine Learning models to detect anomalous nodes in real-time/ near real-time in the presence of multi-attribute nodes in a framework to thwart a Cybersecurity attack.

Synopsis of a Case Study

Fashion Trend-Tracking using AI and ML Models

The enormous growth in e-commerce has generated copious amounts of data. By applying Data Analytics to Big Data and Image Analysis, researchers implemented a Machine Learning model to create a simple User Interface for fashion forecasting.

As a Centre for Data Science, our research is pivoted on data analysis. We seek to advance cutting-edge research that combines data science with domain expertise from various fields. Our research supports new collaborations and encourages inter-disciplinary thought-leadership in promoting data-based decision-making. Industry Connects and Corporate Relations

Data Science Summit

IIDS organized its second day-long Data Science Summit on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Applications on Supply Chain models focussing on Retail Analytics on the 4th of December 2021.

Cybersecurity Panel Discussion

To address the growing need for Cybersecurity transformation and discuss the new age of Cyberattacks and Controls against women & children; IIDS organized and hosted two Panel Discussions on Cybersecurity at the Hyderabad campus on the 25th of March 2022.

Datathon

ISB's Institute of Data Science hosted its first 'Business Analytics Datathon' Case Competition in November-December 2021. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by a whopping 70 teams and 250 members of working Data Science professionals. It offered corporate, and student teams an opportunity to leverage the knowledge of Advanced Analytics & Data Science to provide business solutions that encourage 'Transformational decision-making.'

Panel Discussion on Women's Day

To commemorate International Women's Day, 2022, IIDS hosted a panel discussion, 'Paths to Leadership in Data Science' on the 6th of March. The speakers spoke about raising awareness regarding existing biases and under-representation of women in the field of Data-Science.

Alumni Affairs, Achievements and Awards

'Business has a responsibility to give back to the community' is a famous adage, and we are happy to provide a platform for our students and alumni to achieve this.

Five AMPBA alumni volunteered for Dakshas - an NGO that helps in providing universal, ethical, and affordable healthcare free of any financial constraints. Our volunteers helped Dakshas build a dashboard that connects the first mile of the support ecosystem to the last mile of village beneficiaries.

Initiated by our team member Yogesh Divakar, about 200+ members of our AMPBA community came together under the 'Stay Connected, Stay Safe' initiative to offer a common platform at the time of the second covid wave in March- April 2021. A common helpline and a telegram group were built on the platform. The helpline offered updated and, importantly, verified information regarding the availability of beds, oxygen, plasma, etc.

AMPBA alum Sakshi Aggarwal volunteered with the initiative #CoviFeedIndia. The initiative helped to connect home-food providers (volunteers, home chefs, tiffin services) to COVID-impacted families.
