Industrial Research and Development These research projects aim to integrate the learnings from the AMPBA program to solve real-world business problems. The centre publishes about 50 Capstone Reports every year. Capstone Projects by the two cohorts in the year were sourced from the following industries Abstracts of award-winning Capstone Projects from Batch 15 &16 Trademark Infringement Lookout, Identification and Stoppage Automation Using Machine Learning (Tilism) Using Machine Learning, participants automated trademark infringement detection and extraction of legally relevant information from past judgments to exponentially speed up the protracted process. Action Recognition System: Customized AI Model Recognizing Actions to Predict Autism Spectrum Disorder Participants investigated a fresh approach to recognise the characteristics or STIMS prevalence in children with ASD via video recordings of their regular activities. Prediction of the Emotional State of a Subject Using Artificial Intelligence Participants developed an AI-powered working model to detect the emotional health of subjects. The project can significantly reduce patient load on mental health therapists. Using a combination of multiple facets of Health, Engagement and Productivity to estimate occupational Burn-out Participants used Data Science techniques to curate recommendations for employee wellbeing. The project is significant for employers who wish to understand their employees better through the 'burnout' lens. Crop Anomaly Detection This study deployed anomaly detection AI techniques to derive models for predicting crops at risk and help farmers increase yield by providing remote & timely access.

Research Paper Examining Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in marketing via a global lens: Current trends and future research opportunities Advancements in AI-technologies are enhancing the capability of firms to collect, store, analyse and utilise a vast variety of customer information. The paper examines global implications of this technological advancement by exploring the role of two key dimensions of AI, human-machine interaction, and automated analysis of text, audio, images, and video, across three different levels of analysis (country, firm, consumer).

Progress of Healthcare Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India This research project explored the possible applications of AI in the healthcare sector. Researchers identified use cases and new avenues where AI solutions can be implemented. They also highlighted the gaps in the country's IT infrastructure that impede smooth implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions. Artificial Intelligence (AI) In Healthcare: A Promising Start in India The rise of AI solutions for healthcare diagnostics has induced widespread optimism in the sector. This piece explores the possibilities in a comprehensive manner. Challenges in Data Science: Research on Misinformation, Disinformation and Weaponisation of Social Media Online misinformation and disinformation have engulfed nations globally. Diverse, multiple legal regimes globally make enforcement difficult as the digital world cuts across national boundaries seamlessly, but the law does not.

Recent Projects The Role of Classed Wording in Perpetuating Class-Based Inequalities in the Workplace Despite extensive research efforts to understand the origins of class-based inequalities in the workplace, there is a need for a greater understanding of the institutional-level mechanisms contributing to reinforcing these disparities. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) This project was undertaken to identify revenue streams and optimise them across products and regions for Telangana State Transport. One more targeted outcome was to offer data-based decisions at the depot level. Telecom SIM Subscription Frauds: Global Policy Trends, Risk Assessments, and Recommendation Participants conducted an in-depth review of SIM subscription fraud cases and examined the risk they possess. Adya ISB and Adya signed an MoU to investigate and understand the interplay of technology in the retail space. The exploration will look into enabling small retailers and suppliers onto e-commerce platforms. Eyesmart ISB and leading Healthcare provider Eyesmart are collaborating to understand the impact of technology and electronic health records (EHR) on healthcare productivity and adoption.

Presentations Dr. Shruti Mantri, Associate Director, IIDS presented the paper 'Network Anomaly Detection using Knowledge Graph', 9th International Conference on Business Analytics and Intelligence, IIM Bangalore, 15th-17th December 2022 IIDS Research Assistant Jigyasu Kumar Verma's paper 'Machine Learning Classification Approach to Predict Heart Disease for Hospital Management' was selected for presentation at the ISDSI Global Conference in Bangalore, in 2022. Datathon IIDS hosted its second Datathon Case Competition in 2023. The case competition witnessed enthusiastic participation by 250 members. Working professionals in data science/ analytics participated in the Datathon. The event offered corporate and student teams an opportunity to leverage the knowledge of Advanced Analytics & Data Science to provide business solutions that encourage 'Transformational decision-making.' Each team had to offer a business solution to the problem statement given to them. IIDS had provided masked data sets for the model development of the business problem. The winners of the Datathon were declared by a jury comprising Mr. K. Kanish, Prof. Avik Sarkar, Mr. Vineet Kumar and Mr. G. About ISB Institute of Data Science The ISB Institute of Data Science conducts research and imparts education in business analytics and data science. It designs & delivers programmes for working professionals in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science applications in business decision-making. As part of our outreach activities, IIDS organizes Conferences, Masterclasses, Workshops, Panel Discussions, and Workshops. The institute provides data analytics support to other departments, research centres, and institutes at ISB. In an endeavour to connect theory to practice, IIDS designs and develops AI Analytics and data-based solutions for the industry to address their complex business problems.
