Thomas Schmidheiny Chair of Family Business and Wealth Management
Volume 1, Issue no. 1, September 2009

Message from Dr Thomas Schmidheiny, Founder, Spectrum Value Management

Dear All:

I am delighted that ISB is bringing out a Newsletter for the benefit of family businesses. There is an acute need for creating awareness among all those involved with family businesses about the positive energy they can unleash for the benefit of themselves and the society. This is yet another sign of the commitment and passion of the School to undertake activities under the Chair. I wish Professor Ram and his team all the very best in all their initiatives.

Best wishes

Message from Professor K Ramachandran

Dear Friend:

Yet another milestone for us! Here is the inaugural issue of the ISB Family Business Newsletter.

This Newsletter is a platform for us to reach out to a large section of the society that is interested in perpetuating family businesses. We will be sharing with you interesting thoughts that help build harmony and wealth in families and businesses across generations.

This issue contains a summary and brief review of a book that discusses experiences of family businesses that have survived several generations. Links are also given to some of the interesting articles that you are welcome to download. One of the ways to get enlightened is by attending conferences and training progammes, we have listed a few.

This is the beginning of a journey, and we need your support and suggestions on making this a rich resource for all those interested in family business.

Best wishes

Perpetuating the Family Enterprise : We will be offering the annual training programme on family business in October. This will be 6th time Professor John Ward and Kavil Ramachandran will be offering this programme.
