A Campus Comes of Age

The participants at Pinnacle and Equinox

The weekend of Oct 19-21 was action-packed at the Mohali campus as it hosted two well-attended events, Pinnacle and Equinox, with much élan. It would have been hard for anyone to guess that the campus has been operational for only six months. A landscaped yard, festive lighting and newly-constructed buildings greeted visitors as they entered the campus for the events.

Designed to be a platform where students and business leaders interact and exchange ideas, Pinnacle 2012 drew industry veterans from banking, healthcare, IT and the academia.

Chief Guest Srini Raju, Founder, Peepul Capital, inaugurated the event that was also graced by other luminaries including Gunit Chadha, Co-CEO Asia Pacific, Deutsche Bank, Ajit Rangnekar, Dean, ISB, Savita Mahajan, Deputy Dean and CEO, Mohali campus and Ashvini Jakhar, President, Graduate Student Board, ISB.
Students’ spirits soared with Gunit Chadha’s inspirational keynote address on “Hindsight in Foresight.” Chadha implored the students to pursue their dreams and not to get lost “looking at the hindsight that there is no foresight left.”

This initial brisk momentum stayed through the two days of panel discussions, where experts deliberated on leadership, healthcare at the bottom of the pyramid, ecommerce and India’s position as an emerging economy vis-à-vis other emerging economies.

The discussions continued with the inaugural alumni learning and networking event, Equinox, which brought together many alumni, from the Founding Class to the Class of 2012.

This event, a mixture of workshops and entertainment, kept the alumni and their families busy, and their feet tapping to the music of Talash, a Mumbai-based band. Adding to this session was an invigorating session with author Gurcharan Das and Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman of Hero Corporate Services Ltd.
