Alumni Endowment Scholarship – Update
Since Alumni Endowment Fund was launched in 2010, we have received encouraging support from our alumni across different classes. The importance of having a strong endowment supported by alumni was again strengthened by our Executive Board in the most recent board meeting on 31st August, 2013. The Board has agreed to increase the matching contribution to the fund from current 1 Cr INR to 2.5 Cr INR. The endowment fund forms a key part of our growth strategy in the coming few years.
As a sign of your continued support, we are happy to share that the Co2013 has agreed to contribute a portion of their class gift , INR 6.73 lakhs, to the Alumni Endowment Fund. With this contribution, the endowment has reached to INR 51 lakhs. With the School’s matching contribution and the interested earned so far, it has now reached INR 1.19 Cr. We are actively working with the current class, Co14, to direct their Class Gift to the endowment fund alone. In addition to this, there is an ongoing effort towards a Co08 reunion gift towards the Endowment fund as well. We should be able to announce the reunion gift soon to the broader alumni community. We hope that with more contributions coming in, the endowment fund could be utilized to do more things than the scholarship alone.
As you know, the endowment fund is used to give out a diversity scholarship for the PGP class. Our Admissions team has completed the selection process for the Alumni Endowment Scholarship for the academic year 2013-14 and have been selected “Oindrilla Chakraborty”. Oindrilla has graduated in M.Sc. (Hons), Biological Sciences from Birla Institute of Technology and Science. After completion of her M.Sc. she has joined as Consultant Trainee in Orbees Info Labs (India) Pvt Ltd, privately held organization providing Information Technology solutions to its higher education customers in the U.S. and Western Europe and later she has moved to Orbees Medical which provides consulting solutions to healthcare companies as Associate Consultant. Her recent employment was with Dementia Day Care Centre, Helpage India as an officer before got into ISB.
