ISB Hosts First Asian Conference on Family Business

Sustaining Growth in Family Business’ – that was the theme of the First Asian Conference on Family Business, held at the Indian School of Business (ISB). A three day ongoing Conference, starting on February 1, 2007, seeks to provide a unique platform to pool rich experiences of business families, executives, and researchers from Asia.

Attending the First Asian Conference on Family Business, hosted at the ISB, was Guest of Honour Adi Godrej, Chairman, Godrej Group. His presence was of great significance to the Conference, as he leads one of India’s oldest business families, running a 109-year old empire, which has now extended into the fourth generation.

ISB Launches a New Centre of Excellence

The ISB has launched a new Centre of Excellence – the Centre for Leadership, Innovation and Change (CLIC). This is ISB’s fifth Centre within seven years of its operations. CLIC will be led by Professor Prasad Kaipa, a reputed teacher and consultant in the area of Transformational Leadership. The ISB launched its first Centre, the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development in 2001 and soon after launched the Centre for Analytical Finance, the Global Logistics and Manufacturing Strategies Centre, and the Centre for IT and the Networked Economy.

ISB team placed SECOND in the Eureka Business Plan Competition

Taking part and winning at various national and global B-plan Competitions, in order to make perfect their planning and leadership qualities, and exercise their entrepreneurial skills, is an essential part of learning for the students of the Indian School of Business (ISB).

Recently a team from the ISB, comprising Sanjna Rao and Pradeep Machineni, were declared second at the Eureka Business Plan Competition, organised by IIT- Bombay.

Professor Mani Subramani joins the ISB as a Visiting Scholar

Professor Mani Subramani has joined the ISB as a Visiting Scholar, effective January 1, 2008. He is visiting the ISB till December 2008. He is an Associate Professor at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.



A long way from Ganpatichiwadi to the ISB

Ganpatichiwadi, 110 km from Pune in Maharashtra, is an obscure, inconsequential place for most of us. Basic amenities are still battled for in this remote village. The nearest high school at Junner is seven to ten kilometres away. This is the home of         Dr Kiran M Shete, an orthopaedic surgeon, who is currently a student in the Class of 2008, at the Indian School of Business (ISB). An inspiring story in all.
