Sahayak Diwas reloaded – Kritagyata 2015

Sahayak Diwas 2015 was launched in a new avatar – Kritagyata 2015. In Hindi and Telugu this word broadly means an ‘expression of gratefulness’. A previous class had used this name, and Class of 2015 decided to freeze upon it permanently, to best capture the spirit of the event. The grand celebration took place on Friday, 20th February. Countdown to the event comprised many activities and celebrations.

The initiative everyone loved was the Thank you Wall, a floor to ceiling canvas put up outside Goel dining hall. Students clicked pictures along with their favourite sahayks and pasted them on the wall along with messages of gratitude. One afternoon witnessed students working shoulder to shoulder with support staff in departments such as housekeeping, security, Goel, etc. The fortnight leading up to the big day had teams from different departments participating in sporting and social events ranging from cricket, football and volleyball to rangoli making, tug-of-war, and lemon-and-spoon race. D-day in Khemka witnessed scintillating dance performances ranging from Mizoram’s bamboo dancee to hip-hop to the lungi dance.

Dean Ajit awarded the first Bandhan scholarship to daughters of support staff for academic excellence. This student initiative to support the education of girl child had raised funds throughout the year by organizing networking dinners for ISB students with their favourite professors.

Finally, the event ended with a big feast for the entire staff where roles were reversed, students put on chef’s gloves and caps, and served back.

Thank you all once again for making Solstice 2014 a grand homecoming.
