Can you tell us a little about your family background/ history?
My father is also a businessman. My sister is an MBA and supports me in my firm. My wife, who is also my batchmate from ISB, is currently working with Philips India.

Briefly describe your personal and professional achievements (including recent awards/ special projects):
My biggest achievement has been my foray into entrepreneurship. After working in the real estate sector for almost five years, I observed a gap in the professional delivery of brokerage services and consumer expectations. For the last couple of years I have served a wide spectrum of clients who have valued our service and recommended it to many others.

Tell us about your profile pre-ISB, and recap your professional life after ISB, including your career progression.
Pre-ISB, I worked with McKinsey as an analyst. Post-ISB, I worked with Hines India as a project manager and then forayed into entrepreneurship.

Describe your fondest memory of ISB.
It would be difficult to single out any one moment. I thoroughly enjoyed my ISB experience, whether it was brainstorming with my study group, the gruelling schedule, the ritual dunking on my birthday, section parties, spam e-mails or the competitive games of squash.

In your personal life, how have you changed post-ISB? Do you see yourself doing something differently because you went to ISB? What has left a lasting impression?One thing I learnt at ISB was time management. There was always so much happening in the campus that you were left with no choice but to manage your time well. ISB introduces you to certain standards of quality, be it peer group, infrastructure, faculty or career growth, hence raising the benchmark of performance that you set for yourself.

How do you think ISB has contributed to your career growth?
ISB provided me with a platform to work with the best companies from varied sectors in roles that were not available to me previously. It also left me with some cherished relationships, which remain my lifelong assets, helping me multiply the opportunities available to me today.

If you have to sum up ISB in one word:
Bootcamp.

What was the main highlight of your programme at the ISB?
A demanding academic programme synchronised with outstanding extra-curricular activities with an exceptionally brilliant and talented peer group.

Word of advice for the current class?
Stay focused on learning. Experiment, think independently and choose for yourself.

What was your favourite course/ class at ISB and why?
The core Finance class by Professor Bhagwan Choudhary. Professor Choudhary, a master of his art, taught with an exquisite simplicity and made learning finance easy and interesting. 

What are the areas in which you can contribute to ISB?
As an entrepreneur in the real estate sector, I can offer my guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs or people interested in working in this upcoming sector.

What do you enjoy most about your current career position?
The freedom to make my own decisions and chart my own growth.

What is the next new thing in the industry or vertical you are working in? Any trends that you can see?
Backed by higher household income and easy availability of finance, the average age of new home buyers has decreased drastically, hence there is a tremendous movement in the sector both on the demand and supply side. As a result, the sector is gearing towards becoming more organised and I envision a strong regulatory framework for all developers and industry professionals.
