Tell us about yourself – your profile, recap your professional life after ISB including your career progression.
I have over 13 years of experience in the information risk management and consumer/corporate fraud reduction technology industries. I have focused predominantly on sales, business development and consulting during this time, with my motivation being to bring technology solutions to core business problems.

Right out of campus, my current role with the Global Marketing Solutions team at Facebook involves serving small and medium businesses (SMB) as they build their presence on the Facebook platform. My team helps these businesses engage and sustain conversations with their target audiences and in the process, helps them to grow successfully.

Describe your fondest memory at ISB
My fondest memory was participating in the organisation of “Solstice 2010.” It gave me the opportunity to work closely with a great group of passionate individuals and also enabled me to collaborate in creating another milestone in this annual tradition.

With the knowledge and experience gained at ISB, when looking back, tell us something that you would have done differently while you were a student here?
One of the areas that I clearly did not fully leverage upon is the alumni network that ISB has built over the last decade. As an alum, now observing the number of students that reach out for guidance or just establish connections, this is an area that should get more focus on campus. Even during my exchange programme at Wharton, I did not make an effort to reach out to the alumni in the US. There are clear benefits in building these relationships, either in terms of gaining professional advice or establishing broader industry connections across the world.

In your personal life, how have you changed post-ISB? Do you see yourself doing something differently because you went to ISB? What has left a lasting impression?
ISB has inculcated in me the ability to evaluate business problems in a much larger strategic context and allowed me to break down complex problems into manageable units. Above all, my biggest takeaway has been to learn how to manage organisational change in a complex and fast-moving work environment. This was facilitated not only through the courses that I took on campus, but also through the exchange programme at Wharton.

How do you think ISB has contributed to your career growth?
ISB enabled me to make a lateral move into a different industry from the one that I had spent 13 years in. It has also placed me in a role that has been challenging, life-changing andmost of all provided me with an extremely enjoyable work environment.

If you have to sum up ISB in one word:Nurturing

What are the areas that you can contribute to at ISB?
I am happy to contribute my time in a variety ofareas namely student career counseling, alumni networking, resume review sessions and candidate interview sessions for new classes.

I would also like to provide support to entrepreneurs on campus who can potentially benefit from Facebook’s advertising and online brand presence. Specifically, I can run workshops to help these entrepreneurs unlock the value of the Facebook platform and initiate a formal programme for entrepreneurs to work closely with the Global Marketing Solutions team at Facebook.
