Tell us about yourself – your profile, recap your professional life after ISB including your career progression

ISB gave me a plethora of choices during placement.  I eventually chose Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) where I got an opportunity to get into business development in the US. Back in 2002, this was a coveted role and I wanted to put theory learnt at ISB into practice almost immediately. My next progression was my move into the consulting domain.  In 2007, I joined a niche consulting firm named neoIT (now neoAdvisory), where I helped clients manage services, globalisation and brokered some large outsourcing deals. Today, the consulting journey continues and I am currently with KPMG Advisory Services.

Describe your fondest memory at ISB
Apart from getting a degree, I also found my life partner at ISB. Some of my fondest memories are of the long walks we took after dinner in the campus with my then-classmate, now-wife, Shalu.

With the knowledge and experience gained at ISB, when looking back, tell us something that you would have done differently while you were a student here?
I would have loved to develop my reading habit and made use of all the books and journals we had at ISB. After all, it’s all about developing perspectives.

In your personal life, how have you changed post-ISB? Do you see yourself doing something differently because you went to ISB? What has left a lasting impression?

I am definitely a more confident and self-assured person post-ISB.  The courses I took and the classmates I interacted with raised the bar for me and provided me with the support system to actually reach it.

How do you think ISB has contributed to your career growth?

ISB has opened up many doors for me.  Post ISB, whenever I have looked for a change, I have had many opportunities to choose from. I have not had to compromise on a decision due to a lack of options.

If you have to sum up ISB in one word:
Opportunity

What are the areas that you can contribute in to ISB?
Apart from being a good brand ambassador for the school, I have been contributing to the school in my own little way. I have been coming back to ISB for the past few years to help students understand consulting as a profession, conduct mock interviews, etc. I also plan to support the interaction between industry and students through knowledge-sharing sessions etc.
