Tell us about yourself – your profile, recap your professional life after your under-graduate education including your career progression.
I am vicepresident forproduct management at TATA Communications Ltd (NYSE:TCL), responsible for business strategy, P&L and new product development for the enterprise voice portfolio of services. From inception, I have architected and built a market-leading portfolio in managed voice services (TDM and VOIP), audio/web collaboration and hosted contact centre services for the global enterprise market

I lead a global product management and business excellence team that has won industry recognition with the Frost& Sullivan 2011 award for market leadership in hosted contact centre services in India. I have also been involved in developing alliances with telecom service providers and system integrators in Philippines and UK.

In a prior role at TATA teleservices, I was senior product manager with a regional responsibility for the TATA Indicom brand of mobile and fixed wireless services. I launched new mobility VAS services and built a successful broadband internet business.

In addition to the PGPMax from ISB Hyderabad, I have completed my Masters in Management Studies (Finance) and BE (Electronics Engineering) from Mumbai University

Describe your fondest memory at ISB.
The opportunity to look at business from different perspectives, in the company of some of the brightest minds in the country was truly a great experience. With friendly faculty, wonderful staff and peacocks for company, I could not ask for more
I have fond memories of the timesspent with classmates, who are now friends for life, discussing everything under the sun. Equally thrilling was the international immersion programme in some of the top schools in the world – Wharton and Kellogg in USA and FDC in Brazil

With the knowledge and experience gained at ISB, tell us something that you will do differently in your professional life?
A wonderful takeaway from ISB is to realise that you can achieve success by contributing to the society. I have begun to apply what I learnt, by starting work on a project to bring technology(data, video and voice) tohealthcare in India.I see this as big, challenging and above all transformational,as it will take critical care to the non-metro towns in India.

If the project is incubated, it will be a steptowards solving the massive challenges that the healthcare sector faces.

What are some new trends in your current work industry that can be shared as valuable knowledge-transfer?
India is today poised at a very exciting stage in telecom growth. The availability of wireless spectrum through recent auctions has opened up the possibility for consumers to enjoy abundant bandwidth for high speed data access. Both the 3G and soon to be deployed, LTE technologies will make high quality videoand data communication available nationally. This is great news for new applications to be developed in fields of education, healthcare, online retail and cloud services for business applications.

Imagine the impact it will make on your decision making, when you can see images real time, enabled by high speed and high bandwidth wireless technology. There will be a new wave of devices, phones, tablets, video end points that will be sought by consumers to take advantage of this new technology.

What are the areas that you can contribute to at ISB?
I love the School and am committed to contribute in any way possible. I am eager to work with a cross-section of current and alum ISB alumni in areas of common interest such as healthcare. My PGPMAX classmates are planning a contribution to the school, which I support. 

Any other suggestions or feedback?
ISB as a brand is growing. And I believe that it is only through its student community that it can continue to grow. I would encourage constant stream of communication with alums, to keep us motivated and excited, to share our dreams and help us contribute to theSchool.
