Tell us about yourself and recap your professional life after the ISB including your career progression

I am from a business family in Kolkata. I started working in my family business along with pursuing my B.Com (H) from St. Xavier’s College. Post ISB, I worked for a few years for NIIT Learning Solutions business in Chicago, US as a Director for Business Development. After working for a few years at NIIT, the entrepreneur in me took over once again and I decided to head back to India and start a new division within the family business. This division provides mechanised farming solutions to farmers in India.

What was your key take-away from the ISB?

My two key take-aways from the ISB are the power of the Network and the stimulating discussions with peer & faculty alike that taught me many things only books can never manage to do

How do you think the ISB has contributed to your career growth?

The ISB has been fundamental in providing me with the tools necessary to succeed in an ever changing socio economic space. It has had a very strong impact on my career in tangible and intangible ways.

What is your vision for the School?

My vision for the school is that it should continue to keep it’s ‘consumer centric’ approach and keep giving the same importance to alumni that it has all these years. I would also like to see the ISB become more popular and ubiquitous for the common man in India. The brand recall is relatively high when it comes to corporate and MBA aspirants. However, it is substantially lower for common people.

What are the strengths that the School can leverage upon and areas it can improve?

The ISB can leverage upon the passionate alumni. It can also make the most of the brilliant infrastructure that it has, to attract top notch faculty in the coming days and years.

How do you think alums can associate with the School or alum’s role in building the School ?

Alums can contribute monetarily, albeit in a small way. Also, it is critical to frequently update alumni on the happenings at the School, especially during the placement season so that they can continue to be the spokesperson for the ISB in their town/city/country.
